What Is “Sustainability”?

Sustainability is defined by different people in different ways. Generally, it is understood as creating and maintaining the conditions under which humans and nature can coexist to support present and future generations.

Who Is Affected?

Everyone.

But the effects are not evenly distributed. Lack of sustainable practices impacts communities or color and those lower on the socioeconomic ladder much harder and more extensively.

Travel + Sustainability

Developing sustainable travel practices has been a talking point in the travel industry for several years. Many business, agencies, and governments have taken steps to introduce more sustainability into the economics of the industry. A lot of sustainable approaches continue to fall short of what is needed to combat mass ecological damage. However, many have resulted in marked improvements in certain areas while also contributing to increased class consciousness of environmental issues.
